You are here!!

Lucky Hearts Club was born during my ninth life.
I’ve reinvented enough times to write a novel, and through it all I’ve learned this: the heart is the most transformational guide we have. My work is to help people find their way back to theirs through embodied experiences. When we’re aligned with our heart, we’re aligned with purpose - and when we’re in purpose, we heal everything we touch.
The world could use a bit more of that.

Love will make us well.

Love will make us well.

Hey y’all, I’m Nick (he/they). I learned early what it meant to walk through thresholds. As a queer and trans person who grew up in rural Texas, reinvention—and the stubborn insistence on living my truth, even when the world didn’t make space for it—was my norm. I’m a guide, writer, lover, and creative who knows something about transformation (not everything—just something).

I’ve welcomed hundreds of thousands of people into community spaces, built partnerships that funneled real resources into education and the arts, and shared my work in Born This Way Foundation’s book. Through it all, every time I felt lost, I came back to the compass of my heart. Where it’s led me hasn’t always been easy or clean—but it’s always been a path I could earn my name on.

I started Lucky Hearts Club as a home for this work and a place to gather, storytell, play, and create belonging in community. It’s a project that lives and breathes through seasonal ritual, presence in nature, and gatherings where we pause to honor the moment we’re in.

Lucky Hearts is for folks who know that love—in practice—is the most radical way forward. I know I’m lucky to still be here.

My Foundation

  • I study with Aja Daashuur - trance medium, spiritual teacher, certified past-life regression integrator, and founder of Spirit House Collective. Her guidance grounded me in clear, loving boundaries with spirit guides and ethical, practical mediumship. I also study with Ariana Strozzi Mazzucchi - founder of SkyHorse Academy and a pioneer of Equine Guided Education - a master somatic coach and lifelong horsewoman whose teaching is helping me design body-led containers and practice presence with horses as teachers. Without their work, I wouldn’t be supported or prepared to hold this space in community.

  • I’m a white, transmasculine, queer person - genderqueer from a young age - raised poor/working-class on red clay in north-central Texas. I’ve carried the early grief of my mother’s death for over 30 years.

My family lines have been in the colonized U.S. since the 1700s. My ancestors were primarily Irish/Scottish (Gaelic), Germanic/Nordic, and French, with Southern/Appalachian settler roots through Texas and Oklahoma.

  • I was raised inside an agrarian rhythm, and that’s the backbone of how I work: from the body and the land as sources of meaning. I don’t belong to a single initiatory lineage; my reconnection work leans on nature-based, trauma-aware approaches and on the folkways carried in my family (Irish/Scottish Gaels, Germanic/Nordic, French), braided with Southern/Appalachian settler roots from my Texas and Oklahoma upbringing. I learn through mentorship and lived practice, and I’m continually shaped by public teachings that help me keep the work body-led, ethical, and useful.

I stay within lineage-aligned scope. I don’t use closed Indigenous or African-diasporic ceremonies or practices.

  • My life and opportunities were shaped by systems built on stolen Indigenous land and Black labor through chattel slavery, reinforced by ongoing anti-Blackness in policy and culture. I carry that truth into this work and commit to material reciprocity (time, money, and amplification) for Black- and Indigenous-led efforts.

I live and host gatherings on the homelands of the spuyaləpabš (Puyallup Tribe). With deep gratitude I honor and acknowledge that the Puyallup people have lived on this land since the beginning of time. They are still here today. They live, work, raise their children, take care of their community, practice their traditional ways and speak the Twulshootseed language – just as their ancestors did.

  • I studied Environmental Science and started my career teaching outdoor education. I loved helping young people see that the land had wisdom worth listening to. From there, I earned a M.S. in Management & Leadership and spent over a decade building programs and partnerships in the nonprofit world. I thrived working in LGBTQ+ community development, youth empowerment, education, and the arts.

I am currently working on my certification in Equine Guided Education at SkyHorse Academy.
